Mark J Hillyer Photography is a friendly and professional Yorkshire wedding photographer. I’m based in Leeds and love to travel throughout not just Yorkshire, but the whole of the UK to shoot weddings. Whether it’s wet or dry (let’s be honest, it’s often wet!), crowded or intimate, going to plan or not, you’ll get some of the most stunning wedding photography available in Yorkshire.
I work in a natural and candid style to deliver photos that aren’t simply based on who was there and what you looked like, but are created by your character. I love being a wedding photographer because every event I shoot is so different from the one before; different guests, locations, events and characters all come together to create a unique atmosphere. It’s this personality and individuality that I capture in my photos.
My style results in a stunning collection of wedding photographs that are distinctly yours. I capture the hilarious moments, the emotional, the silly and the beautiful so you can remember exactly how you felt for years to come.

Yorkshire Wedding Photographers
I am one of the most dedicated wedding photographers you’ll be able to find; I love my job, which means I’ve been known to stay for 12+ hours! I’m there right from the wedding preparations, past the first dance, and with the very final partiers at the end of the night! It allows me to boast some of the most full coverage of your big day from any wedding photographer in Yorkshire. My wedding photography gives you unbeatable value and time for your money.
If you do want more coverage, I also work with other Yorkshire wedding photographers. This means I can offer shots of both the bride and groom getting ready, for example, to ensure there isn’t a single moment missed!
Wedding Photographer Yorkshire
I’ve shot weddings all over Yorkshire and have extensive experience with a huge range of venues from Leeds down to Sheffield, across the Peaks, the Dales and right over to Whitby. I also love to travel all over the country and have covered Lake District weddings, events in the midlands and all the way down to the South coast.
I’ll be honest though, as much as I absolutely love travelling and exploring other places, I do think Yorkshire is one of the best settings for a wedding! It’s a stunning county with venues that make the most of the beautiful views. Whether you’re having a city wedding or heading into the countryside, Yorkshire never disappoints.
My wedding photographer Yorkshire services cover any area. I love to discover new places and new people, so just get in touch!
These are just some of the locations I’ve travelled to and the venues I’ve photographed…
Of all the places I’ve photographed in Yorkshire, there are definitely some that stand out.
The Falling Foss Tea Garden in Whitby, North Yorkshire is a beautiful location. Whitby itself is gorgeous with some stunning ocean views, especially from up on the clifftops. The history of the little town itself is also fantastic, especially all the culture and stories around Bram Stoker’s Dracula! The Falling Foss Tea Garden is a beautiful location in the woods, inclusive of waterfall – which I have to say lends itself particularly well to some beautiful wedding photography!
I’ve covered a few weddings at the Woodlands Hotel in Leeds, North Yorkshire, including outdoor weddings (which is very brave with the unpredictable Northern weather!). It’s a great place not only to have a wedding, but also to be a wedding photographer as the spaces are large and bright. The bridal suite in particular lends itself to some gorgeous preparation photographs. It also has a small woodland area that makes for lovely intimate shots away from the busyness of the main event.
The Red Lion in Burnsall is another place I’ve visited quite a few times. It’s in the centre of Burnsall village in the Yorkshire dales, complete with ghost stories and centuries of history. It has a beautiful setting right next to a local church where a lot of the couples I’ve photographed get married. There’s a lake nearby for some quiet, more intimate photos before the party really gets started in the main venue!
